Well Champ I think about 14 hours. Keep in mind for a while I knew I could not have the car running no matter how fast I worked. I would work for 2 hours and stop, and we all know that is no way to be efficient. Also I started to notice the directions mixed up the passenger and drivers side about 3 times, so even if the directions said to do something I made sure to think about it instead of just cutting away. You really only need a partner for a few things, but if someone isn't ready to help you place the head unit on the block you gotta wait on them too. The fabrication of the CAI takes a a few hours itself also.


The biggest headaches.... Make sure you take off the bumper. I did not and I had to get my wife to help unbolt the condenser. 15" forearms cannot get everywhere lol. I certainly saved no time at all keeping the bumper on. The heat exchanger, coolant pump, and some plumbing all took longer because of accessibility issues.


I would say getting the fan in and out was the worst part. It was also a little tricky pinning the crank, more specifically finding materials to use to keep it from spinning. Danner asked about the dowels towards the start of this thread. The coolant pump's connections were nearly impossible for me to get too ( bumper!). Other than that it was just getting parts!


I would say 2 people who had all the parts could bang this out in 10 hours. Realistically this is a Saturday and Sunday affair. VERY, VERY easy install. I feel anyone can do this.

I have never driven an SRT. I have a very hard time believing a SRT would pull like this does anywhere in the powerband though. I mean the crank hp on an SRT is about the rwhp on a SC R/T. Before I could chirp into 3rd but now I can spin in 3rd and scratch 4th.


Yeah it is like holy shit.


Still I would weigh your options. SRTs are awesome, but they are nearly $20,000 more than what I paid. I am close to $9,000 in mods ATM. Imagine what another $10,000 would do. That is enough to buy a 426 long block. I could upgrade the brakes and drive train. Heads, cam, water/meth, Tb, headers, mids, catback.... Lots of weighs to spend that money and be way way ahead.

Ordered on July 11th. Still no fuel pump. Still no hardware to mount the dog bone. I might ask for my money back on the fuel pump......... This is ridiculous.

Thanks Mac but I have the mount. I bought a dog bone which is just a metal oval with two holes in in. Each hole line up with the bolt for an idler pulley. In order to keep this Dogbone off of the pulleys themselves you put a spacer on but that means each bolt needs to be 1/2" longer. I need those bolts.

Sooooooo I received A fuel pump today but it is NOT the one that I ordered.


I received that saddle style type fuel pump that is the older style. As I understand it this style sits next to the basket and not inside of it. With this setup the stock fuel pump is used and also the saddle. So two fuel pumps are used and the advantage of this is if one craps out I can limp home. They say this is a 700 rwhp rated setup. This has been used for 3 years without issues.


The one I ordered is the NEW style which is a competition single hat fuel pump. This kind sits in the basket and actually replaces the stock pump with a few adjustments. They say this thing is rated for 700 rwhp, but in reality they are having problems above 580- 600 rwhp. They say the gas cannot move through it fast enough, as if it has to do with the venturis... It is a turbine style so I imagine the gas spins to the walls of the housing and then goes through the venturis... Idk. They say they are having problems with this pump.


Idk if they are blowing smoke up my ass........ Anyone have experience with these pumps?

Just hearing some positive feedback is enough to make me wanna put it in. I'm so happy this will be the last major part of the install.... This was supposed to take me 2 days lol. I just want to nail this coffin shut and move on with other projects!


Ace, as you may have already guessed I would not recommend the route I took. I would go KB or Edelbroc. This has been a complete nightmare but driving the car is like a dream ( my apologies that was lame I know it). Really it was worth the headache in the end though.


Oh George I just noticed that the response I sent did not load. Darn Internet.....


It kicks in hard between 2500 and 5500 rpm. I notice a little bit of lag but nothing close to a turbo. I am willing to bet we just need to relearn the car a little again. For example the optimal time to shift has moved a few hundred rpm while cruising or getting on it 75%. WOT is the same. Downshifting is a little different but we will get used to that as well.

Highway, I am not sure what liter the edelbroc supercharger is, but any 2.3L supercharger will make the same hp per pound of boost, well close to eachother anyhow. I think twin screws are best all around but the Maggie and broc are both eaton hybrid roots... So really it would be a tuning issue, I think ( never had both so who am I to say its 100% true).


Keep in mind not all SCs are the same size. A 2.8 Kb is gonna make more hp than a 2.3 Maggie at the same psi. Larger liters means larger cfm.
