October 5th, 2017 my CRD went into limp home mode. I was 15 miles from home, so I had AAA tow it to a dealer to diagnose. Luckily I have a buddy who loves to figure things out, and had the luxury of borrowing a vehicle. Got the thing back on the road for 5% of the shop cost...though I did owe the shop $100+ for their diagnostic time, so all in probably 7.5%.
Let my lesson show you why you're always better off trouble shooting the pesky repairs sooner than later. Should have fixed the leaky CCV/EHM (I miss spoke and called it a PCV valve). I had seen that it was oily before. That oil degraded the intake tube.
