Not a whole lot but this is a sub-compact car and it does not take much to get it going. Also remember the xD is quite inexpensive so you cannot expect to have a high powered motor. The small engine makes for great fuel economy with the 2012 Scion xD netting 27 MPG in the city and 33 MPG on the highway.
