Thought this may be useful and seeing as I was swapping mine I thought id post some pics and info.

My 1992 GT had been acting funny (low on power and runnin really rough, poor running under load) so I decided it was safe to say that my old fuel pump (original to the car, 220k miles on it) wouldn't be a bad thing to change to eliminate variables.

Things you'll need;
Wire strippers,
Wire cutters,
10mm socket,
8mm socket,
Rachet,
17mm socket,
pliers of some sort
Phillips screw driver,
Maybe a few other things.

remember to be very careful! This will require opening the gas tank and exposing the tank to the atmosphere meaning you need utmost care to not have any open flame or sparks! Also do this in a ventilated area due to fumes!

^remove the rear seat, two of these. One on each side under the lower section push pointy tabs horizontally.

^remove 5x phillips headed screws to access the top of the tank.

^undo wiring connector

^push gromet through the plate

^fuel pump cover is accessible. Remove 8x 8mm headed bolts

^17mm to remove the pressure side fuel line, reuse the washers.

^use the pliers to undo the return line

^remove the two nuts holding the connectors on, and remove the two clamps and remove the pump.

^removed!

^new pump

^new filter, bugger to put on.

Then just reinstall!

Also note that depending on the pump chosen, you may have to it and wire it in.

This one from oriellys required that, just pay attention to the + and - on the terminals of the stock pump and you're set.

You may want to add to make sure your tank is probably at least only 1/4 full. Also start then engine and pull the connector on top of the fuel pump. This will depressurize the supply line.
