Il update this thread now ive got a little bit of time

started plugging things in and going around the car doing everything to get it running to see what path to go down, i was the first person to have a battery on in 5 years as the sunroof automatically shut (scared the plop out of me as i was under the bonnet as it pulled up the plastic covers sounding like arcing cables) speedo reset from 20mph, lovely white dials in a MK1 ZT over the blue in Mk2s

i had got her up and running on 4 then 5 cylinders, injectors clogged solid

Dale at bailey performance cleaned them out 3 times (look how nasty the fluid went)  and flow tested them all nice and even flows

changed the fluid again for the last clean

the joys of  finishing a job someone else started, let my mate pull it into the workshop and wouldnt start (after i swapped all the dash over) starter nut had fell off or wasnt installed

Whole airbag system had to be changed, ecu, driver and passenger airbag, curtains squib and stalks  along with the whole dash as it was bent from going off, cleaned all whle i was in there, front seats removed too and pre tensionsers and seatbelts changed along with crash sensors under carpet (nightmare job)

windscreen replaced off the donor car (on left)  that the airbag system came out of

uooer dash is all the same color just looks off, lower section is a gloss not satin but a deatail for later

decided to whip the engine out as it needed some rework and rear of engine bay panels beating and patnting

oil was a big convern as it came out like it had water in there, id put fresh oil in and no water system fitted with around 6 mins it total run times in short stints moving the car

i replaced followingwith new , sump gasket, ac pump, pas pump, water pump, alternator, all aux pulleys and belt, manifold gaskets, spark plugs, oil filter, wishbone bushes to poly + arb along with a full clean down and paint of block etc

inside of sump was nasty and baffle plate had corrosion so stripped it all down cleaned and refitted

block all cleaned and painted

after engien refitted

whipped all suspenion off, ground off any corrosion, fertan converted twice and left over night followed by cold gav and then tinted raptor liner in silver metallic bodycolor under arches lower bay and tunnel

raptor linered, painted all brackets i had taken off and strainted and cleaned up all heat shields

raptor came out quite alot thinner then i expected, used  2x1L bottles for this, also sprayed in holes and down chassis legs

painted all the one chassis leg in 2K MBB silver not the poundland paint it had on there

partially re-assembled  with heat shields etc, also modded and fitted a diesel sound proofing blanket across the rear bolt on bulkhead, missing piece was ordered from rimmers for near on £100 to be told (2 weeks later) its NLA >:D  so i will have to get a normal one ( i few 3 away) and modify it

made a new bracket to hold the pas pump, rather then to chassis make it onto the stock engine bracket using a chopped up diesel bracket and a V6 pot

i want v8 noises

safe to say v8 noises achived

remembering where half of this went

did alot of  little nigglly bits here, changing damaged plugs to nice new ones taping and coving etc along with a few broken wire repairs

unfortunately is back in bits there as the alternator charging system has an issue, on the igniter system

new Genuine radiator, AC condensor, pas cooler

Couldnt with the old cooling fan assembly so ordered another Genune item (my poor wallet) but looks the bits and no cracks, put all airbox assemly back in place, also ordered new bonent cables (x3) aftermarket clips afor them and 2 new bonnet latches to be future proof on issues

Been doing odds and sods minor items prople wont see link swapping out bent pas rack lines to a good set i have and heater valve block repair kit, new bolts for wings etc

Rear discs where too good to justify spending £300 on a pair for now all cleaned up inside/out and internal face with with paint, waiting on black paint for calipers the rear AP racing calipers weigh just nothing

i bought this paint  pod that said its good for "4 caliper" so far done around 12 calipers and 6 discs with about half left

price gouging on v8 parts are silly £60 for handbrake shoe? no thanks il part search it for £12.50 delivered for TRW shoes for a pugeot 607

same issue with brembo pads £120 all around some searching got them for £65, lotus for the rear and bmw for the front

numberplate + some TFR to get the green off looks half respectable, bumper needs realighing with exhausts but thats on the list

Basically where i am upto now

This is my kind of build right here. Very nicely done!

I bet the purists probably don't like this, but screw them! This thing looks like a blast!

This thing is insane. Definitely not a swap I would think of doing, but it looks like it will be a blast to drive. I like the mad max look you have going too.
