I'll be installing a FITCAMX dashcam into my 2020 Volvo XC90. The cool thing about this dash cam is that it is integrated into the rear view mirror housing/sensor cover, and pulls power from the mirror itself. This ensures an easy install, stealthy appearance, and no power issues from manually wiring it in.
1) There is a small trim piece that sits proud of the rest of the mirror housing or sensor cover. It's right by the mirror arm. You pop that off using a small trim tool and you'll see the green connector inside.
2) Unplug the green connector - this is where your pigtail will splice in for the dash cam.
3) Tuck all the excess wiring up into the housing and attach it to the camera.
4) Once the harness is attached to the camera, it simply attaches where the previous trim piece was.
That should be all there is to it! Once you turn on the car, the camera should turn on. It can be accessed from your phone via bluetooth. The camera will remain on for a short period of time after shutting the car off, but you should confirm it's working properly by checking the indicator LEDs on the camera body. If you have any questions feel free to leave them here or on the YouTube video, thanks for checking out this tutorial!
