well its that time of the year i guess time for an update !

picking up where i left off last time : i got the new tranny in from rossler, got that installed along with a new mark williams driveshaft. the new tranny has the short style tail housing unlike the onld one which had the long one. now if i ever needed another trans i can "borrow" one from the guys over here

i also got the busted tranny rebuilt locally and slapped it on my stang for "testing" , so far so good

i also ordered a new third member with 3.4 gears instead of the current 3.07 ones, trying to find some time to install them

and in case you were wondering how bad the torque arm crossmember was damaged, well you be the judge :

i then turned my attention to the front brake lines , i took everything off and replumbed it. i started with a new location for the prop. valve and a bracket to hold it in :

and then proceeded to making the rest of the lines, here is the line that follows the bottom of the K member: ( forgot to take any more pics )

after that i resumed messing arround with the front nose support , this will hold the headlight covers, top of the nose , and tie in with the frame horns. the smaller one will hold the hood pins as well as the bottom of the nose peice. this is how it started out as :

and here is how they attatch to the frame ( don't mind the other brace with the waterpump attatched to it , thats the old one and i was just to lazy to remove it ):

since these pics were taken i added brackets to hold the headlight covers as well as tabs to hold the bottom of the nose, but i didn't get pics of them yet , so as soon as i get the parts back from the powdercoaters i'll snap some pics

i also finished some work inside the car, last time out i was told by the tech guy i needed to relocate my window net mount to inside the cage as well as installing a net above me because it was a Ttop car. i was also asked to redo the batt mounts ( i agree since the ones on there were pretty aneimic ) as well as install a seat back brace .

new window net location :

window net and t top net :

and how it looks from the top :

and here are the new and improved trays , just need to powdercoat them

moving on , i started with messing around trying to find a suitable mechanical fuel pump location. like i mentioned earlier , the plan was to remove the core support completely and mount the rad and cell in there . given the mess i have in the engine compartment my pump locations were somewhat limited , here is what i came up with :

this spot was too low for my liking :

this one was better :

and if you are wondering why not up top , well the alternator is going on there and this location gives me the best belt routing . either way , i still didn't install it yet, i'm waiting to finish the tank first as well as the new radiator location before comitting to that location .

contiuing with the theme of relocating everything i moved the oil accumilator out from the engine compartment and into the the driver fender . it sits nice and snug in there and out of the way , yet still is easy to access if i need to do so:

now we get tto the part i kinda hated to do but after doing so i thought why didn't i do it a long time ago: cutting th core support out completely. i did this for two reasons, the first being that i need to relocate the radiator away from the headers and horizontal to free some space, and the second being that i need to place a fuel cell on the passenger side to gravity feed the new pump. and here is what i ended up with :

and here is one of the proposed radiator positions , the other is slightly tilted up towards the rear of the car - will have to decide when the nose brace comes back from the coaters to check for interference :

so now i have to finish the following :

- plumb the accumilator and call that side project done
- get the front brace and mount it up front and install the headlight covers on it .
- mount the radiator and build its mounting fixture and plumb it .
- weld the water pump mount to the frame horn under the radiator.
- patch up the hole on the core support stubs .
- swap out the third member.
- start building an aluminum fuel cell to mount up front.
