Friday, September 25, Day 3. First day of competition at SCCA Time Trials Nationals. I had a total of 3 sessions on track. After the previous days' struggles, I came with the mindset to focus on my driving, try to get faster and to have fun. The first session went well. The car is still making the loud noise turning right but I tried to not focus on the sound and just drive. My time was quicker than Thursday's practice sessions, which made me feel good. Second track session went well but I was about a second off my previous time, which kinda bummed me out. Third session came at the end of the day and i was feeling great about my driving. Halfway into our first timed lap a Miata went 4 off and sent the whole course to black flag. After about 5 mins of sitting on pit lane our group headed back out and i was determined to drive faster. I really focused on using more throttle in areas and trying to take turns faster.  Unfortunately I had a moment of fog brain just before the sink hole and got a little lost, which really pissed me off. I guess I was a little more determined because my next lap I dropped over 7 seconds from my previous fastest lap!! I would mention that Jack Baruth gave me a little coaching session prior to my 3rd session, but I wouldn't want him to get an ego about it. ? So, I will mention that I asked my paddock neighbor (who has a very fast time) about tire pressures and ended up dropping my pressures down about 5psi to 31psi "warm". *Language Warning* This was the 1st track session on Day 3 of competition at SCCA Inc. Time Trails Nationals. During this session I set a lap time of 2:33.623, which is 21 seconds faster than the fastest lap I set my first practice day. During this session a Miata went 4 wheels off in front of me in turn 6 and I caught up with a 2020 GT500 in the sinkhole on the last flyer. I'm super happy about this lapping session even though I made multiple mistakes every lap. It's exciting to know that the car is capable of a faster time as it is currently setup! The full video, including gap lap and cool down lap, is posted on my YouTube channel, Ryan Cheek Racing.

2020 SCCA Inc. Time Trails Nationals was epic! 4 days on NCM Motorsports Park's 23 turns is just enough time to make you want to move to Bowling Green, KY. The event's staff did amazingly at organizing and keeping the event running smooth. People came from all across the US to compete in this event. There was also a wide variety of experienced drivers in attendance. From Pro level all the way to people getting out on track for the first time. It really is an event for everyone!! There were a lot of women drivers and event staff, as well. Which was wonderful, and I encourage more ladies to come out next year. As a lady driver, I never felt out of place or unwelcome with event staff and fellow competitors.
Over the 4 days, I dropped 21 seconds from my grand course lap time. From a 2:54.699 fastest lap on the practice day to a 2:33.623 fastest lap on day 3 of competition. Personal comfort level with the car and comfort with higher speeds on track are the improvements I'm most proud of, and I look forward to many more track events with Racecar!
Huge thank you to all who have supported my journey! I would not have made it here with out my sponsors DIYauto.com, Michelin, Carisma Detailing, LLC, Trinity Pharms Hemp Co., Black Mountain Tire Connection Inc.; partnership support of Redline Ace; the constant positivity and love from my friends; the tips and advice from people at the track; and the best crew chief ever Kyle Quattromani Photoworks

Great thread! I had a 2013 Mustang GT. I regret that I never got to take it to a track and really see what it could do. Looks like a blast!
