In my halfway organized system of removing the bolts on the water pump, I realized I had no clue what went where when it came time to reinstall the new water pump on #projectLOWFAREmont the $4k budget build 1978 Ford Fairmont. After searching around online, no one had a good diagram of where the bolts go on a small block ford water pump for my era of car. LMR has a great resource for 79-93 5.0L, but what if you have an OPEC era car like mine? Well I lay out what goes where. Skip to the 5:00 minute mark if you want to see literally just the bolt pattern and it goes through to about 7:20.If you want to understand how I got to the point of that pattern, well watch the first 5 minutes. If you want to see tips and tricks on reusing the hardware, or how the install goes, watch after the 7 and a half minute mark. If you want a budget update for the project, stick around to the end!Best I can tell, this pattern would apply to most Windsor blocks later than 1969.5 but prior to 1979 on passenger cars only (lower radiator hose is a driver's side drop). So don't try applying this to M or Cleveland motors, nor on trucks of this era.
