Update on the green mid engined spitfire

Today I finished binding the wiring loom and putting the car back together. Getting the boot lid to fit was a nightmare and as I said after painting the car, the boot lid needs painting again ? the airline must have touched it whilst the paint was wet. But I did use the boot lid to try out my new da polisher
I used g6 compound but as there wasn’t much lacquer on it , made little difference.
On that note, I think I’m going to clear coat the car again, I think I didn’t put enough on (only 2 coats)
But today is the first time all the different components have been fitted.

Update on the mid engined Spitfire

It’s been a while since I posted an update, the car is just about finished, just waiting for the carpets and adjustable front shocks to turn up, but that won’t be until early November.
I’ve changed the front suspension adding adjustable top wishbones, I still need to set the camber but it’s not so extreme now. I’ve had some issues with the engine, I’ve had a stage 2 map put on it, allegedly I now have 280bhp ?. I had to fit bigger injectors and maf to match the larger turbo. The engine ran really badly, turned out that the diaphragm had burst in the BOV, so I fitted a dual port forge valve today and the engine runs as sweet as a nut ? and I get a crazy blow off noise..
I’ve butchered our leather sofa and trimmed the inside in leather, door cards, dash and sun visors all done. I’ve also had the wheels Refurb’d in graphite grey, they look awesome.I’ve test driven the car quite a bit, no nasty rattles or noises, I think I still need to raise the rear a bit, as the rear tyres sometimes catch the inside of the arches/fenders. I’ve fitted a roll bar to the front and stiffer springs.
I have 3 worries, the front wheels protrude the arches, the rear number plate is only 16” long - the biggest I can fit and the engine is exposed to the top (all moving bits are protected) not sure how I stand legally on those bits.

It's good to see someone modifying a triumph - the time put into sorting the panel gaps has paid off!

What a transformation! If Triumph were making cars today I could see them building something like this.

You really are an artist with the welder. Looks like a modern version of a classic design. Well done!
