Transmission – 1987 Monte Carlo SS 200R4 4 speed overdrive transmission with lock-up torque converter. American Auto-Wire kit has a pressure switch into the 4th gear port so the lock-up only happens in 4th gear.

Rear Axle -  Stock rear with 3:73 gears and a Eton Posi.

Suspension – Stock with the following additions.  Hotchkis front and rear sway bars. Air-Lift bags inside the rear springs.  Adjustable panhard bar to center the rear axle inside the rear wheel wells.

Steering – Updated Borgeson 600 power steering.

Brakes – Power disc front and drum rear.

Cooling is Champion 3 core aluminum radiator with dual electric fans that are turned on/off by the fuel injection temperature settings.

Wheels – Wheelsmith artillery wheels with reproduction 41-47 Chevy dog dish caps.  Hankook tires all around.

Vintage Air is installed.

Custom Auto Sound AM/FM usb mp3 external input radio.

The original windshield was pitted after 58 years so was replaced early in 2020.

Interior – Interior was removed and the floor wire brushed.  Rust encapsulation was brushed on and then sprayed with flat black Rust-Oleum. Eastwoods foil insulation (not Dyna-mat but similar) was applied to floor, inside doors and all other places that were reachable. Insulation was also applied to the roof before the new headliner was installed.  The seats were recovered and a new carpet was installed.

Wiring – Complete rewire with an American Auto Wire classic update kit while the interior was out.  Turn, tail and stop lights are LED.  Interior courtesy lights are also LED.   Converted to six tail lights with sequential turn signals.

I have driven this car on long road trips to Illinois from the East Coast and returned with out issues.  The odometer says 45230.8 but is beyond the mechanical limits.  Best guess is about 150,000 miles.
