Got it home, 260 miles, 3 very heavy rain squalls, 30.8mpg running non-stop between 77/83, about 2100 rpm in 8th.

So far just the ride back from the performance Center & a few "honey do" runs. Car is responsive & comfortable. Its equipped with the MPPK/MPE – 342HP, M-Sport brakes & the computerized real time shock absorber suspension system. Was going to order fresh get flats but the new RFT's are orders of magnitude better that the ones my 335 came with so will keep them on.

Way more tech than the old one all generally better. Love the HUD. The nav can display a Google street view of your destination which is nice for locating a place that is all new to you.

Performance wise its a winner. BMWPCD has you do the program in one of their cars that matches what you bought. My run group was the 435, 2X650’s & an M228. Track runs are follow the leader no passing.

Was fortunate enough to be first on line behind the instructor. M228 next the the two 650's. After some follow the leader laps the instructor pulls off & leaves you to yourself but with 2 way radio comms.

Took 2.5 laps to come up on the trailing 650. Expected to go in to time-out but he called the 650 into the pits instead. Got the next one in a further lap & had pulled 3/4 of a lap infront of the M228 which I expected to be the quickest car out there, younger mid 30's driver on a more technical course than top speed course.

Son in law who has never driven on a track was also able to lap one of the slower 650's. Really a great deal & a freeB for anyone who buys a car & can get to SC for the delivery. My run group had a couple from CA & another from MA.

Highlight of the day was some ride along hot laps driven by a BMW team driver in a prepared M5 @ 575HP. Quickly reminds you of the difference between how good you think you are & how good you really are.

Its really great & you cant beat the price. BMW even picks up the hotel dinner, breakfast & lunch.

Sample Hot Lap: We got up to 135mph before a 90* left, very interesting.

Our instructor runs the school & has raced at LeMans 24, Daytona 24 & Sebring 12 for BMW. Also had him the last time I went with my daughter. The entire staff has raced professionally & they really encourage you to push the cars as far as you can.

After lunch they threw in a few laps of the off road course in X-5's before we went home. Usually after the afternoon session they do a factory tour, they build all the worlds X-x there, but they are in change over for the new model so we got a rain check & extra track time.

Its really worth the drive or flight if the opportunity ever comes up.
