96-04 PATHFINDER SHIFT BOOT/ARMREST INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

1. Remove the ball on the shift boot-it simply comes off by unscrewing it by hand-no screws.

2.  Simply lift up and pull out the console ashtray. Underneath is a phillips screw which needs to be removed.

3. Carefully pry off the plastic trim panel surrounding the shift lever. The trim panel can be removed with the shift boot by pulling it up as one piece.

4. To get the pleather shift boot off turn the trim panel upside down. You will see a bunch of silver circular tabs which hold the pleather to tabs on the panel. Carefully remove the tabs with needle nose pliers. You will reuse them to install the Redline cover which comes made with the holes already punched! There will also be double sided tape holding the pleather to the trim panel. It just peels off. You can use some double sided tape when reinstalling but it is not necessary. The new boot is custom made to fit really well and the double sided tape isn't needed. Reinstall is reverse of removal but alot simpler as you will see how easy it is once it is removed.

5. To remove the center armrest cover there are only 3 screws holding the cover to the console. Open the armrest and you will see the 3 phillips screws holding the armrest. There is also a plastic guide that holds keeps the cover from fully extending backwards. Just push the black tab in to remove the cover totally.

6. To install the leather remove the 8 screws on the bottom of the armrest cover. It will separate into 2 pieces. Install the leather, make it tight and reinstall the 8 screws. Installing the armrest is the reverse of removal.

CONGRATULATIONS - YOU HAVE SUCCESSFULLY INSTALLED YOUR NEW LEATHER BOOTS!

Useful tip

You have installed a product made out of genuine leather. As you know, to maintain a leather product in good condition, you should take care of it. We suggest occasionally (every 4-6 week for example) applying some leather conditioner/UV protector to keep your leather from drying up in the sun and cracking.
