One broken valve and damaged seat . That piston will need replaced as well. 7 other's just barely touched. Those valves will likely need to be replaced as well but the pistons are good.

Couple more pictures. This is the only piston that appears to need repair and the corresponding head chamber.

Correction on the cam. After looking closer at the cam card that he sent me, I called him back asked if he was sure that was it because it didn't look right to me. He verified with the engine builder to see if the numbers matched and they didn't. Turns out that is BonnarLS1's cam.

So Steve's cam corrected for the 1.6 rockers is a 248/248 .611/.611. The front of the cam is a little beat up but if it's reuseable, he will be reusing it. Mike is going to put in 2 more dowels and wire the bolts. No balancer.

Wanted to post a little update.
Motor Status: Head with the broken valve is being repaired.

I finally got my hands on a lobe catalog from Comp Cams and we selected a slightly different cam. It will now be a 250/250 .672/.672 113 +2. It's pretty much the same but with about .050 more lift for ***** and giggles as the valvetrain can take it.

We also found that 2 of the inconel valves had the tips mushroomed. Gotta figure out why but leaning towards defective. This would cause a great deal of harmonics as the rocker was smacking the valve like a hammer.

Transmission Status: En route to Rossler for pump and shaft modification so that the transmission cooling circuit works again.

Converter: At FTI getting a sprag put back in it. Spragless makes too much heat.

Big Stuff 3: Was sent back to Big Stuff to have it checked out as the WBO2 was giving us some issues. While it was there, the intention was to have it upgraded with some additional inputs, 3 step and individual EGT's. We got the quote back for a little over $4,000 just for upgrades. I started doing a little hunting around and found out that the better way to go is to use a RacePak so we got some quotes on that and it was even more money. I got to talking with Steve and we decided that now was the time to make a change before he got in any deeper. So that's what he is doing.

Holley Dominator EFI is on order. The interface is beautiful and modern and it will have all the features that we need for under $4K total and he can sell the BS3 to recoup about half of that.
