attended the Fatlace Word Up! Event

At the last event (towards the end of the day) my car was smoking a lot from the tailpipe. At first I thought it was maybe because I wasn't running an oil catch can... and at the prior event it was smoking a bit too, but I never thought anything of it...

So after I brought it back at the shop I let her chill for a couple days, LOL, didn't want to deal with it. Then I finally got out the compression tester (after warming up the car) and did a compression test. Number 2 Cylinder was low, and after adding oil to that cylinder, the compression shot up. Bad rings... SUCKS.

So I had to get a new engine, SUCKS. I picked up this 2006 f22 with low mileage. I thought it would be pretty straight forward, just change the intake manifold (since 06 is when they went DBW). I was wrong, had to change the intake manifold, valve cover, and front cover.

The shop looks so messy...

Some random s2000 stuff, notice Mr. Johns SUPERIOR welds on the oil pan.

Like I said, had to change the front cover. Why? CKP is different.

Tranny chillin.

Engine is all put together and ready, just letting the oil pan gasket cure.

Old engine, one day i'll rebuild it... LOL but then again I've been saying that with all the 4AGs i had laying around...=P

So I finally gave in and got a set of foglights...

Thanks Cabe Toyota!

Used the stock harness to wire them up, the part that goes to the USDM fender lamps.

I unpinned the connector, in case I needed to convert it back to stock (hey you never know)

Ran some new wire, was able to fit it snuggly into the female connectors (no pun intended LOL) and wrapped it with heat shrink. Then topped it all off with some black electrical wiring loom.

Now decided whether or not to get a grille... :crook:

Attended Sonoma/Infineon Drift. Fun event, venue/organizers still need to work a bunch of things out but i'm sure they'll get things going smoothly.

Here's some pics of the cage, still not completely done, it was enough for yesterday though. Going to bring it back to the shop for the finishing touches. Next up, TOYOTAFEST/TORC!!

Here are some pics from the last event. Getting used to the cage took a while... Everything feels so different... Much props to Joey and everyone at Performance Options for sponsoring me this year!
