I got some gas prop rods and made a gas propped frunk finally with my buddy xene. Now my trunk, engine lid and frunk are gas powered!

well I have had not time to get to the bodyshop and really have not figured out how I will do the sides of the car, though I am talking with a few people for inspiration.

I work in the ER tonight, then I get off early 3am, and drive out to lax to go to NY for 3 weeks. so I will post stuff when I get back.

I doubt I will mold all the sides, as I do not want to have to paint the whole car again just for that. Also it always seems like a hit or miss, with molded sides and usually a miss, in my opinion. so I will probably stay away from that.

But thank you for the suggestion

since the sides mold back in, they actually are not that wide at the bottoms so I should be able to use the greddy sides if I want to. But I am being very indecisive on what way I want this to look like in the end.

Got some updates finally! This was a first for me and my shop to do anything like this custom work, so it been a really fun process!

mounted the trunk on. It looked kinda cool just like that as if it was a lil spoiler.

a few shots of the front and hood. before paint

wide tires

Action shot! time for cutting! it was scary at first but we measured it all out and made a template for both side.

then we hammered the steel back together and welded it up. then applied a seam seal.

for reference (

we took the sides and cut them down to match the body line, we played around with adding a lip to the side, and having it go down the sideskirt, but it was just gonna be too much work, and molding it to the sideskirt was just gonna cause problems down the road if i ever need or want to replace my skirts.

we measured the sides, and hacked em off!

then played test fit, and sand till it was a perfect fit.

starting to look sexy

Now we prepped the body for the bonding agent, and rivets etc

tested out the roof spoiler, and it fit nicely!

We screwed some temporary self tapping screws into the body to hold it in place while the bonding agent was applied.

widebody with some meat underneath

we then riveted the widebody on, and we will have to fill over the rivets later.

the armand shot!

50% done!!!

so here is a before and after pics or left side right side

more to come when i can get back to the shop and help out.
