Just passed 12k and still running great! Had 2 services to change oil and check everything out. Only complaint is that there is a slight rattle in the dash which I think is some wiring. There is an access panel which I may open to check out for any loose items.

Also took a 2,500 mile road trip from Detroit, MI to Naples, FL and back. Ride was comfortable and using Race mode in Florida and Asheville in the mountains was great! Got a few rock chips and such but worst was a fairly large rock hit my passenger door in Florida :( caused a 3 in scrape which luckily I paid for the paint protection plan for my vehicle when purchased. Have to schedule a date to bring it in and have them correct any issues.

Here are some recent photos.

Hello all! It has been awhile. Since last updated I have had regular intervals services with no issues to report. I try to get an oil change done every 5-7k to keep well on top of any issues or concerns. There was one thing that happened recently on one of my road trips.

On my way back from Kentucky I hit a major pot hole and bent a rim. I didn't know right away until I stopped for a gas fill up.

2019 VW Golf R bent wheel

Luckily it kept air as my car doesn't come with a spare tire. So once I got home I had it replaced for free with my Wheel and Tire protection package. However there was a catch. VW would replace my wheel but not the tire which had a bubble on the sidewall and was still holding air, I guess if it hold air they won't replace it under warranty. Personally I think this is counter intuitive, why would I drive my brand new replaced wheel on a compromised tire, to potentially have it pop and have it damaging my new rim. Needing both new tire and rim again... Not sure but I paid for a new tire and went on my way.... BUT WAIT....THERES MORE!

I noticed an imbalance in the wheel right away driving from the dealer, it seemed like something wasn't correct. Instead of taking it back to them, I was planning on having my car serviced at a small local place which I like and trust very much the next couple days, and felt it would be in better hands there. After getting my regular service and having them check the wheel and tire it looks like they had not "road balanced" my tire where they balance the tire but have a force on the tire, like the road, pushing on it to give an overall better balance. I guess they had installed the tire incorrectly, he stated that I should be below 10 lb and mine was at 60 lbs. Anything over 10 lbs and you would be able to notice it while driving. Unfortunately this is just another nail in the dealership coffin that I have had bad experiences with. I don't know if I'm just the unlucky one but it is very disappointing. I am going to call my local place and see if they can full fill my wheel and tire replacement package from here on forth, and at the same time help support smaller local business. Oooof.

Once other thing I did was do some paint correction on my vehicle as it has gained some knicks and dings here and there. You can read about that HERE.
