Nothing bad happened! This is a decision that I've been avoiding for about a year or so and am finally coming to terms with it. I still love E30s and always will, but I'm relocating 11 hours away from home and can't bring the car with me, and really just all around have to put my car hobby on hold to focus on my career. Which is good and bad. Never thought I'd actually be able to do it, but it's to the point where it's a huge distraction (even though it's a distraction I enjoy).

BUT, I'm 100% going to get back into an E30 in 5 years, once I get going in what I want to do.

My best of both worlds plan:

I'm currently attempting to convince my pops to buy it so I can buy it back when I'm ready, and the odds are looking pretty good

I'm all settled in Indianapolis! Car is back in PA hanging out in a barn under a cover. I have no idea when I'll get to it again. Or maybe I'll forget about it and it'll be a 'barn find' for someone in 30 years haha.

I met a dude at the gym the other day with a pretty nice E30M3, so I'm contemplating bringing the car out here with me to get involved in the small scene we have.

I'm hesitant because I really don't want to be stressed about the 25 y/o project car mentality. I still need to do the subframe, window motors, sunroof motor, lock cylinders, etc. Bunch of stuff that I don't want to get into for a long time.

My Scoob has been dead reliable, got 20mpgs towing an enclosed trailer with 3,000lbs of stuff in it 650 miles, so that's making me happy.

Heidi still lives! I pulled her out of storage today to fix a few things while I'm back east.

-Rebuild shifter linkage
-Change diff and tcase fluids
-Install offset FCABS
-Install rear swaybar
-New Battery

Put Heidi away again for what will hopefully only be until summer when I close on a house.

I'm thrilled again about this car because I have finally made some diagnosing headway! I have a fresh chip on the way and have the injectors out for rebuild, as well as verifying timing, clearances, etc on the new head/cam and she's already running better than ever.

I managed to get done a ton of work I haven't had the chance to do for a long while, and am very excited about dragging Heidi out to the midwest so I can finish up the car and enjoy it.

Soon will be rear subframe/TA rebuild, undercarriage detail, exterior seals, lock rebuild, and paint.

Here's until next time!
