Thanks guys!

Did a little maintenance over the weekend and a health check on the transmission. Transfer gears are still in good shape. Converter bolts haven't budged at all after 40+ passes or so.

I did a health check on the transmission because I had a strange intermittent no shift issue where it would not shift once the fluid got up above ~120F*.

The issue went away and the car seemed to drive fine but I was still concerned. I dropped the pan this weekend to find a LOT of metal shavings. I think the pump is having issues. I picked up a fresh built trans built by Darren Thomas thanks to local DSMer @DetroitStroker

Today I ship the converter back to Sinister to be cleaned so I can toss the new trans in. I am also replacing the trans cooler.

My plan for the failed trans is to have that built with straight cut gears and a billet drum over winter.

My 3" aluminum downpipe I made from cheap ebay material back from when I first started welding is holding up pretty nicely

The street eliminator class at the shootout requires an air filter so I started to fab up an intake pipe. I just need to fully weld it up. I don't really care for how it came out... i'll probably take my time and build another one down the road to use permanently. I'm using a uni air filter which I used on the Evo and found that it does not restrict any boost or power loss with a 62mm @ 40psi.

Finished up the intake pipe. I'm definitely going to take my time and re-make this over winter with some better pie cuts and welding. A black uni filter would be nice too

Next project is a catch pan/undertray that I need to have done by next week as that is also required for the shootout. I will start to plan that this evening.

Finished the catch pan. I will mount it once the transmission & t-case are back in the car. It sits flush with my front tubular cross member. Will be plenty of ground clearance.

This takes care of the engine, trans, and tcase.

Got the pan all finished. I went ahead and installed my old trans and t-case so I could get the mounting taken care of.

Wrapped the downpipe and re-wrapped the o2 housing. I'm eventually going to wrap the manifold. That's the biggest heater under there.

Running out of things to do while I wait for my converter to get back from cleaning.. Coated the exhaust black

Had a good time at the Shootout. I got the trans and converter in the car the day before we left. My first two qualifying runs were 9.7@143mph with 1.57/.58 60's. I ended up lowering the tire pressure down to 11 on all four and managed a 1.48 60' and went 9.5@143mph (personal best). This put me as the #1 qualifier in the 9.50 index class. End of day in the finals I made the same pass but hit the brakes past the 1000' so I didn't break out of 9.50.

I was able to weight the car on the track scales as well.
2820 lbs with ~8gal of fuel
2980 lbs with me in it

Jeff Bush and Aaron Gregory (@Slow95gsx) cars. Two amazing machines.

Car is in the garage for the next round of upgrades until spring. Hopefully I'll have some good stuff to add here soon.

This past weekend I attended a car show. Great weather for a nice cruise there. This thing is a lot of fun on the street

Not too much going on yet. I sold my full 3" exhaust as I am building a side exit. Starting to plan the routing for that now as I wait for the new billet borg warner flange for the turbine outlet to arrive. The flange lets you use 3.5 or 4" tubing.

Not much room in here for a 4". 3.5" fits nicely and won't require cutting. Decisions...

Billet flange arrived for the turbo. The quality of this thing is awesome. It allows a 3.5" or 4.0" tube and includes a beefy quick release vband clamp.

The only other Borg 4.21 Marmon flange I've seen is a cheaper thin piece that I ran before.

Factory front and rear subframes out. These things are heavy...

Front and rear tubular subframes are just about ready to go in.

Adding some strength to the front subframe with two diagonal supports. I really have no idea if this will help, but it can't hurt. I'll be welding on two tabs near the control arm spots for a detachable cross bar with heim joint ends (i'll add photos once I finish that).
