I've finally finished the flowcoat of all the panels. I started cutting and buffing. i did the hood, upper & lower header. i buffed the hood except for the few areas needing to fix some bad fish eyes. i had to mix up some clear and just add a drop or two as needed to fill the holes. Except for that the hood has been through the compound stage. Lower header is cut and polished. Upper header is cut and halfway polished. I also started the entire car. the roof is cut and part of the pass quarter. the pass door and fender are sanded only on the top. i buffed only one side of the roof and ran out of time. Been doing a lot of crap for all this shutdown stuff. Will start again tonight once i finish setting up my computer to work from home.

after 3000 wet sand. it is a dull shine already

The orange peel isn't bad overall. just a few sections a little bad.

I also had to remove some brackets for the front support because i used old bolts and needed to paint them. then i install the upper/lower headers on the car.

This is my process for sanding. I use a DA sander with 1500 on a soft pad to take off the majority of the orange peel. Once there is only small spots left, i switch to 2000 on the hard pad to get the trash spot out. Then to 2000 on the soft pad the finish up the imperfections. Next put 3000 on soft pad and use soapy water. it actually puts a shine to the car. After that I to use the wool pad on a traditional polisher. I tried this on my DA polisher, but it left fine scratches and some dull sections. the wool pad on the polisher knocks it out fast. Just move steadily and fast on the curves and edges. Next i use the DA polisher to polish. Also i have a 3" DA that i use to sand and polish small areas. I hope that explains it all. Thanks for checking out my progress.
