I know I am a novice when it comes to doing this stuff. I learned alot and used these forums often for advice. I want to put my work out there so the next guy that comes along can avoid the mistakes I made.

Anyway, heres a video!




I have some concerns.....

Why is my oil pressure so high? Is that normal for a fresh rebuild? I used Rotella SAE 15w40 for break in.

Updates:

Well this is turning out to be a much bigger pain that I ever imagined. I am very frustrated with how many little problems I have run into.

Minor Problems (to be dealt with later):
1.) None of my brake lights are working.

2.) EWP is tripping the ignition fuse and kills the car while driving.
-will need to re wire this somehow to be more stable.

3.) Low oil sensor is being a PITA
-OEM metal one was broken when they disassembled the motor.
-Replaced to a plastic AC delco one and it leaked, took it out to put a new washer and o-ring in and it would not re-thread correctly. It would only go in cross threaded. Ordered a new one, different brand, hoping for a metal one, but no dice.

4.) Oil pressure very high
-Possibly due to the break in oil. Will take another look once I change the oil and above sensor.

Major Problems:

1.) When messing with the low oil sensor, drained oil and it was chocolate milk colored.
-going to run a compression/leakdown test tommorow to see what is going on.
-praying it was built up condesation during the assembly process.

2.) Car stumbles after heating up.
-ran diagnostics with datamaster and it looks like codes 36 and 42 are showing up.
-replaced a cracked opti harness and a cracked ICM, now I am seeing codes 16, 36, 41, 42 and 51  
-Using MSD coil (new), Standard ICM (new), thepartsladi Opti (new, but one of the last ones before she went AWOL), GM opti harness (new), MSD wires (new), autolite spark plugs (new)

I have the factory manuals with the trouble shooting tables. My question to the gurus is which code should I trouble shoot first. I am guess they are probably inter-related.

Exactly what headers did you use while building this? How is your access to the spark plugs with the headers on? What ended up being the issue with motor mounts and steering linkage on the driver side around the headers? Thanks, and sweet build!
