EFI Conversion Using Holley Sniper EFI and Aeromotive Stealth Fuel Tank PART 3

For our final day, we are simply hooking up all the sensors and wiring on our Holley Sniper System and routing wires so we can fire this 72 Nova EFI swap up.

Luckily there are only 5 wires needed to be hooked up on the system, everything else is quick connect.

Important Connections Checklist before startup:
-Wideband O2 (Quick Connect)
-Coolant Temp Sensor (Quick Connect)
-Touch Screen (Quick Connect)
-Red wire (12v + needs to go directly to the battery)
-Black Wire (Ground needs to go directly to the battery)
-Yellow Wire (coil control wire), we have pertronix on this car so this wire goes to the negative side of the coil (Coil - is the style ignition setup we used, yours may vary if you use a different distributor such as an HEI)
-Blue Wire (Fuel Pump 12v), this wire is already relayed, so if using a 255 or 340lph pump, we find it to be sufficient to run directly to the pump or Aeromotive tank. If using a larger pump consider using a larger gauge wire and or relay combination.
-Pink Wire: Hook this to a source that is 12v when key on and when cranking without interruption. The only source we could find that was this way was the pink wire on the actual ignition switch of the car under the dash. All other sources on this model of car would either have an interruption of the 12 volt source or would drop to a lower voltage until the car was running.

DO NOT HOOK UP ANY OF THE ABOVE WIRES TO ALTERNATOR OR STARTER, EFI Systems are prone run terribly with electrical noise and both of these emit electrical noise.

I will note: running EFI uncovered or made the ignition have a miss on this car. We found a plug wire that was in less than stellar shape. We replaced wire and plugs and the car across the board ran better afterwards. Not sure if there is a correlation here, but consider doing plugs and wires at the time of this install for a little added improvement.

We went ahead and hooked up our feed hose (outlet on the Aeromotive Stealth tank) to the driver side of the throttle body, you can change the inlet location to front or rear by switching the plug and fitting location, though your Feed will always go to this side of the throttle body. Return (inlet on the Aeromotive Stealth Tank) comes out of the passenger side of the throttle body where there is a big round casting which is your regulator diaphram. We ran our system completely through the throttle body using the built in diaphram and it works great. We would suggest this method to anyone using a 255 or 340lph pump or smaller. Anything larger use an external regulator per the Holley Sniper Instructions to avoid issues.

Setup of the touch screen is straightforward and the prompts will walk you right through entering the pertinent info of your ride. After you enter this info, check for leaks, and check timing (if you changed intakes or distributors) you are ready to let it run.

Keep in mind when the "Closed Loop" or Learning mode is enabled on the touch screen read out, the system is actively adding and subtracting fuel to hit a target Air Fuel Ratio (AFR). The car will need to idle, drive, and go through different conditions to learn and tune itself. For me it took a few trips back and forth to work for the car to run and drive super crisp. Take time to hold the throttle at different throttle positions and loads for it to have a chance to learn. We will make another video about this info shortly.

Not featured in this video, we found out that we did in fact need a different bracket or the TH350 kickdown cable. The part number for this is a Demon number 1953. We discovered this after shooting the video.
