no its a 5 speed. 1st is down, second gear is over and up. 3rd to 4th is straight down.

Almost 40K miles

It's too late

Indeed, yes! Sorry haven't been back in a while. The Diablo project will go foward as planned with a rest-mod, as opposed to a restoration of the original mechanicals.

Also, I've decidied that Tom Nelson is the man for the job. I am currently working out a number of details with NRE. I will be sure to keep you guys posted.

As of now, the latest Diablo dilema is N/A vs. Turbo. I have a feeling it's going to be a bit of a bombshell when that decision is made.

Either way, I would like to apologize in advance for all the facepalms. I promise that either way, this will be a no expense spared project, and that the work will be done to the highest level of craftsmanship possible, and that those working on this car will be held to the very highest standards possible.

It would be cheaper to restore the orriginal V12, than to have NRE build everything custom from the ground up on this car (engine, cooling system, trans, AWD mods reliable enough to handle 200-300 more horses, etc).

BTW, what a lovely fish you are named after.

It's a devilish dillema either way.

..but now that the decision has been made to commit the act of desecration, I feel it will not due to be a half-devil of sorts. That would be like partially emptying your bladder on the holy grail. If I'm going down the path of darkness, it's gonna be all the way down.

I'm going to completely desanctify this rare sports car with a twin turbo V8. The engine block will be a Dart 9.325. 427 cu in. will be enough displacement to produce staggering numbers (not just 200-300 more hp), with far better reliability and durability than has ever been seen in the orriginal V12.

The NRE "Octane on Demand" system, will allow for 92 octane gas, with decent gas mileage "around town". In theory, even if the AWD can't be modded and it has to go, this car should be capable of acceleration that would not only be on par with today's supercars, but perhaps tomorrow's as well.

I am willing to sacrifice the beautiful, melodic sound of the engine note for that kind of evilness.

There are at least 199 more 2001 Lamborghini Diablos out there. The VT was also made in 2000, so I'm sure there are at least a few hundred of those. This car will have an exhaust note like no other of its kind.

Sure, it may sound like a kit car, but there are kit cars that sound like real Lambos. Despite what people may think when I drive by, I will always know what it really is. The most unholy Diablo of all time.

Not entirely sure Tom Nelson is taking me seriously yet. I sent him a deposit without telling him. I'm hoping that will restore his faith in the devil. He should get it Monday. Let's see how he reacts
