I realize this. The idea for the project is one that really evolved here on TCL, so that makes it kind of different. Going with the orriginal V12 would have made for a very short thread, though

I have a somewhat better planned project in the works (not the Suzuki), that I hope will hold you guys over for awhile. I'm going to post the whole build thread at once (if I can).

It's going to be a P-car thread that is very unusual, and one which is high on coolness factor. It involves this:

What can I say... I'm going through an orange phase (see SX4).
300hp, 1900lb p-car with a surprise twist. That's all I'm gonna say right now.

Since the SX4 thread will be over as soon as I get the TH17's, I will bump this thread to let you guys know.

Yes...

..The car was picked up today. It's on it's way to NRE. NRE also cashed my deposit, so there's no turning back now. The journey to the dark side has begun. I took pics of the transporters loading it onto the truck. That's likely the last time I will ever see the car in stock form.

18 months to 2 years to build from ground up. Stock trans will be sold. I'll probably sell the engine too. It would make a sweet coffee table, but would be better served financing the build.

Going with 4 cylinders less, + 2 turbos.

...yeah, the facelift was good. They ditched the pop up lights and put in ones from the Nissan 300zx (Nissan sold to Lamborghini). The vents never did much for me. Neither did the interior of the older Diablo

That looks like the older Diablo. I think that engine might be quite a bit tougher than the 6.0, but not sure. I say that because I know the factory made a few (non production) VTTT (turboed. Not so sure about the 6.0VT, though.

Anyway, I've seen another Diablo on the web from SP. It wasn't red. It was more champaign colored. I've investigated low compression pistons for the Diablo as well. The big problem I have (aside from loose screws up there), is that I very much question the reliability of such a setup. I have strong doubts about it. Also, at that point, the engine note is significantly changed. The video of the one I saw sounded a bit fart can-ish.

Again, it's the older one. ...and seriously, how many trouble free miles could you really put on that?

Doubt I'd sell it, but I can live with terrible resale value. Besides, it may not be so terrible.

Tina Turner's LM002 was on sale for 179K euros, and that was also a total scarelige! She had the trans replaced with an automatic, and had a Mercedes engine installed. Surely it'd still be worth something if it wasn't Tina Turner's
