I've read that the Chrysler door and dash speakers are about the same distance from the listeners position, so I grabbed my tape measure...

The left dash and left door speaker grills are about 3' 5" away from my left ear

The right dash and right door speaker grills are about 4' away from my right ear

I'm a little more confident, since I have very basic fabrication skills, want to use the stock locations, and a budget that probaably has no room for any equipment that features TA (it's 2014, why isn't TA standard on multimedia receivers?).

You may be surprised how well tweeters will work in the kickpanel. I still havn't gotten around to working on my audio setup, but I plan on swapping the 3.5" Kickers for some component speakers. I will be sticking the tweeters in various locations to see how it sounds, nothing fancy since I lack any fiberglass skills.

Generally speaking 3.5" speakers just are not all that good, and you can't fit any 4" drivers in the dash without extensive modification.

Those Infinity speakers, you may very well like theme, but their tweeters are usually "harsh" in my experience, to the point where they are fatiguing; being 3ohms doesn't help either. If you mount theme in the dash location, see if you can aim theme in different directions and find the best position.

You mentioned that you want the soundstage to be higher, considering dash speakers, and I was trying to emphasize that putting speakers in the kickpanel location is actually one of the best locations for speakers in a automobile; many SQ competing cars have speakers down there, including the tweeter. However, there is a great challenge with this... aiming is very critical with kickpanel mounting. This is a whole other topic that I'm honestly not that qualified to dive into.

"harsh" sound that I was referring to is that in my experience Infinity tweeters where too aggressive for my liking. It is a personal preference, so you may like it. Doesn't really matter if they are amplified or not, since higher frequencies do not need much juice. I've had both Infinity coaxials powered off a headunit, and a component set in previous cars, and had to take theme out because the highs frequencies where fatiguing to my ears. Some sort of sound processing, or running active may have solved my issue but I didn't know any better at the time.

I have heard mixed filings about having speakers aimed at the windshield. Some say its bad, some say its good so long you aim the speaker at the right angle. You could always try different tweeter mounting locations, using double sided sticky tape, although a small hassle. A bandshell (also called shell theater) is designed to reflect sound off the roof and back half - out towards the audience, but I don't know if the concept is the same as a car windshield
