93-97 FORD PROBE SHIFT BOOT/ARM Rest INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

1. Remove shifterknob. Factory one should just screw off to remove.

2. Next is the removal of the the top part of the center console. This is held in place by snap clips. Gently pry it up on both sides of the console and it should pop free. You will also need to pull the E-Brake all the way up. Also don't forget to detached any electrical connections. (as seen in pics)

3. Unscrew the plastic retainer for the old shifter boot. There should be four screws that hold it in place. Once it is removed, then remove the old shifter boot from the plastic retainer. You will also notice that there is a black glue like substance on the retainer. You can either leave it or remove it. (I removed it from mine.)

4. Now line up the holes with the new boot with the holes in the plastic retainer. Don't worry if they do not line up perfect, this is genuine leather it can and will stretch. Once the new boot is on the retaining clip, screw that retaining clip back into place. You will need to zip tie the top of the boot to the shifter stick.

5. Once that is done, you can put everything back together the way it was removed.

6. Remove the 2 screws that are holding the Arm Rest to the Center Console via a butterfly hinge.

7. Remove the 6 screws that are on the bottom of the Arm Rest.

8. Once the screws have been removed, put the Arm Rest Cover onto the Arm Rest. While doing this, make sure that you fold the elastic over the outermost parts of the Arm Rest so that the screw holes are not obstructed. This may take a little longer while you get the cover positioned the way you want it.

9. Put the Arm Rest back together using the 8 screws you had removed in previous steps and reattach it to the butterfly hinge that held it to the Center Console.

Useful tip

You have installed a product made out of genuine leather. As you know, to maintain a leather product in good condition, you should take care of it. We suggest occasionally (every 4-6 week for example) applying some leather conditioner/UV protector to keep your leather from drying up in the sun and cracking.
