heres how to fit rear top mounts (powerflex)

1. jack up the rear of the car and place on axle stands

2. remove 21mm lower shock bolt

3. remove brake lines and sensor wires from shock absorber.

4. remove the 2x 13mm bolts holding the shock at the top

5. wiggle the shock down and out, now remove the nut from the top, a 5mm allen key and correct sized spanner does the job.

6. as you take the pieces off, lay the in a line so you know what order to reassemble

7. grease up the powerflex mount and put evetything back on the shock in the reverse order to removal.

8. wiggle the shock back up into position, start the 13mm bolts, now start the 21mm bottom bolt (you might need some help aligning the bottom bolt, i used the jack to compress the shock a little). tighten everything up and then do the other side

i noticed almost immediatley less knocking from the rear.

just my thoughts on this, the reports seem to be on ap coils, they go pretty low adding excessive camber, the strut goes through the top mount at a certain angle.
if you have excessive camber the angle will be greater, with a stiffer mount you are adding stress to the piston.

maybe if people didnt wind the coils past the specified limit and fitted camber arms to correct the camber this wouldnt happen.

also could it be that the ap`s are weak, there are reports of weak and even hollow piston casts. maybe they cant handle the extra stress.

the mounts will add extra stresses to the piston, i dont argue that, but i think its a combination of other factors too that cause the issue. im not ultra low and im fine, tim has run them for a couple of year and he isnt silly low either, again with no issues.
