If Josh comes back with a good deal on this header il get it for sure, if noit il be getting a refund and having the one O have welded by a local shop (something I am not keen on) but I really cant have more and more downtime on the car. Summer is flying by and I havent even got close to being fully happy with the car yet.

Well, got the new header installed but were having issues with using oil and afr readings being lean at idle.

Didi a smoke / leak test and found a few small leaks, restarted the car and could hear an exhaust leak and afr still way off.

Turns out the new header had failed at the flex pipe, exhaust was pouring out so now the guys at IIR have taken care of me again!

Not only am I getting a full refund (minus my shipping etc), I am also allowed to keep the broken header so it can be welded and fixed for the inconvenience. How can you go wrong with that, I will always stay a loyal customer to IIR, they bend over backwards to help me and stand behiong their product 100%. Fantastic.

With the oil consumption we are now looking at other possible culprits, PCV valve, possibly bad turbo seals etc. We will no more once the header is repaired. I am also replacing my front o2 sensor as it got bashed a bit and as we are wanting to rule it out as a cause for possible afr problems.

So I think il order up a generic 3" IC pipe kit off of ebay and a maf flange that I can have welded on. I am hoping that using aluminum piping instead of steel will buy me a little more room. The steel piping I have right now is quite thick and doesnt help the situation at all. Where as the aluminum is only 2mm, plus with it all being the same piping, colour finish etc it should make the engine bay a bit cleaner too.

Header is welded, the flex pipe disintergrated inside and would into a mesh ball in the uppipe. Now the car is running but if I blip the throttle up to when the turbo just cuts in and let off I have an unpleasant woosh sound. Its more than likely that my turbo ate some of the metal weave and is now f'd.

So I have a tick, screwed inlet, welded header and a now my turbo is probably done. Think the built motor game is going to end pretty soon here.

Jura I am not running any type of antilag system, I honestly think the header was just not assembled properly or poorly designed. I will be taking a look at the turbo tonight and to see if there is any obvious damage, I cannot think that wire mesh would have done it any good though.

Well we will find out because................

My TURBO IS F'D!!!!

Metal weave went threw the blades and now its ruined. You can clearly hear the blades scraping / contating if the throttle is blipped. Sounds god damn awful.

So I will be contacted Josh at IIR to see if they are prepared to help me out in some way. I mean the turbo was fine, the weave blows up the uppipe and now the turbo is done.

Anyone have any good reccomendations for a new one? Maybe not another Blouch.

Thanks for the info Tom, il give them a call tomorrow and see what the deal is. While they have it I am sure new seals etc will be done so that may give some insight into if the turbo was reated to the oil consumption.

Again I am not trying to sound all emotional here, for those of you who have embarked on something like this you understand my vent / frustration. It will work out and like I said previously I will get there. Hopefully my luck can turn around a little bit but I think with continual hardwork things will be ok.

Again thanks for the support guys, Nasioc's anonymous ftw  haha

I think with the turbo off il play hunt the tick anyway lol
