History & Description:

I found this car in Santa Maria back in about 1990 while looking for a classic car to invest in and enjoy and then sell at about the same price I paid for it. After making some minor repairs I realized the only prudent way to invest my time in a classic car would be to work my way down to the bare frame and bare engine block and work up from there. The first thing I did was make sure all the parts I’d need were available. Once I had satisfied myself that I could find everything I needed I embarked on a three year restoration process. The first year I took everything apart. The second year I rebuilt, refurbished, re-chromed,  re-upholstered, repaired, repainted, or replaced every component. The last year I put everything back together. We were experiencing a downturn in my industry, the oil industry, and the project was very therapeutic. I was also fortunate to link up with friends and associates that worked on engines, auto bodies, upholstery, etc. I’ve taken the car with me to the various places I lived in Orcutt, Ojai, and Morro Bay, and every time I take her out she turns a lot of heads. For about the last 10 years she has been in storage in a hangar at the San Luis Obispo airport. Now she’s in my garage, forcing my Mini Cooper convertible to live on the street; I simply don’t have room for her. I’m hoping she’ll find a good home with someone that appreciates her and gets a lot of use out of her.
