I noticed there are very few video's on what a Ford Escort EXP is. This is the second generation model and the last one they came out with. The 88.5's are all Luxury Sport Coupe's but it doesn't say that anywhere on the car. I got mine from the original owner in 2012 and he had bought the backseat for it when he had kids a few years after he bought the car. It came standard with Fog Lights but when I bought it one was missing and wiring was burnt up so I just ripped it all out. I might get another set one day for it to keep it close to original. The only things that aren't original on it are the air box cover that I painted Ford blue, and the Stereo system. Its basicly an Escort that they came out with in the 80's to appeal to the younger crowd. At the time the only other 2 seater car was the Thunderbird and they wanted to replace the Mustang with this front wheel drive style car. Once Mustang owners found out they were trying to switch to a FWD car they lost it and Ford quickly stopped the EXP. They had already spent so much money on the project they came out with the Probe for a while and then that was dropped completely and the Mustang lived on! If you drive it by the shift indicator light on the gauge cluster you will get stupid good fuel economy and shift it at 2,000rpm. If you drive it a little harder and shift it at 3,000 it will get some... for a 4 cylinder... When these cars were new they were advertised at 44 Miles per gallon. The tank is 40 Litres and I can get 600km if I fill it at 1/4 tank. When I had this car I soon after happened to buy a red/grey one that was pretty beat up but had a lot less km on it. I think I likely had 2 of the only 3 on Vancouver Island at the time.
