Just an update.
Went and made some test passes and had nothing but issues.
I'll talk about it tho as a reminder of what my experience was. :-)
Pass #1 - I launched the car and it blew the tires off and wheel hopped. I let out and rolled back into it and for some reason the car had shifted 1, 2, 3, & 4th gear all by 36 mph and I stayed in it to get some data and it downshifted back to 3rd gear and so I let out around the 900 foot mark when I felt the downshift. It ran a horrible 13.0 @ 118 mph with a 2.0 60' :-)

2nd pass was after making some adjustments in the tune. I launched it and again it spun BAD And wheel hopped so I let out (rather than break something) & it felt alot better when I got back in it and so I made a full pass. However it didnt want to shift into 3rd gear. I back pedaled it and it went into 3rd gear and i matted it again. The car ran an 11.49 @ 128 mph with another horrible 1.9 60'

3rd pass- I launched the car and it felt sluggish at the start and then the tires spun bad. And I just rolled into it after letting up again to keep it from wheel hopping. Then it kept breaking up down the track and at around the 800' mark it backfired and killed the engine. It restarted and I got it back to the pits only to find I coasted to a 12.0 @ 111 mph with a 2.0 60' again.
Needless to say I was very unhappy but it just meant I had some more things to figure out. Turns out my Crank Sensor was getting hot and losing readings and causing the issue with it backfiring and running poorly. I fixed the crank sensor the next day. This was a week ago.

Just this past wednesday, the transmission blew up on my ever so slow cruise into work. :-(
It lost 3rd and 4th gear after a very loud explosion or banging sound from inside the transmission.

So now the Transmission is at RPM TRANSMISSION Getting built.

I'll keep this thread up to date. I can't wait to get thr car back on the road and back to the track to work on the full passes I want sooo bad. I just gotta set up the suspension and get it to leave at that point though.

Wish me luck guys. ;-)

Yeah It's definetly a bummer. But I'll get it all straightened out soon. :-)
Traction is going to be a PITA to get under control. I can completely put the tires up in smoke from a 60 mph roll. I have Mickey Thompson 295/55/R15 Drag Radials out back.

I actually have a small video a friend put together for me from the track day. I'll post it here in a minute.

And I'm guessing it will go bottom 10's for sure and once I get some more seat time and everything else lined out, MAYBE a high 9 second pass on motor. At least thats the goal. :-)
If I can't hit 9's NA I'm gonna spray it with whatever it takes to reach a 9 second pass and leave it at that.

Here is a little Video from my test passes at Muncie Dragway.

Thanks brother.

As an update: My transmission came back from rpm transmissions last night and I'm gonna finish putting it in today. Almost got it all done last night but I didnt get home til 8pm and I also had to tear the front of the engine apart to install the new Cloyes timing chain I just got in the mail as well. :-)
So this time around I should be able to sort out all of the tuning, starting, and hopefully even get some more track times soon. :-)
I'll keep this updated and post a few more pics up.

I'm hoping to get everything lined out with the tune here in the next few weeks. If so, I'll be hitting up the track as well. I wanna try to get some full passes in before the end of the season!!!
This car has really been testing my devotion to the car game. I'll tell you 1 thing... I need a break from repairing it and some quality time behind the wheel. Preferably at 100% TPS aka WOT. lol :-)
