Great progress made today. I purchased another round of parts. Ordered was:

1. Grim Speed manual boost controller (blue)

2. Kiggly HLA

3. Zaklee cam gear cover

4. Mishimoto thermostat

5. Torque Solution short shifter

6. Techna Fit brake lines

7. DEI 32-ounce radiator relief

8. K&N oil filter

I need to update my parts slide.

I am very excited for him to be finished as well. He should be on the road no later than Wednesday. The intent for tuning is to get a baseline 91-octane tune to about 24 PSI and then drain it out and put E85 in for direct comparison purposes. In about a month, I will get the hybrid boost taken care of, add a few things to my fuel set up, and see if I can get the 600whp and 450wtq that I am after.

Megatron has finally arrived home. The 90-mile trip home tonight was pretty pleasant and I could only think about all of the hard work that has gone into this build. There are still some tweaks of the tune that need to be made. I will say that even on pump/91, the EF4 is pretty quick with the 2.4LR.

One tidbit of information about the DW301 fuel pump. It failed after less than 50-miles. Even with plenty of fuel in the tank, the pump kept overheating and would not build enough fuel pressure. The DW301 was replaced with the tried and true Walbro 255lph and the problem was solved.

More updates will be provided in the next few days as I overlook everything this weekend.

This week I am preparing Megatron for his remote tune by Tom on Saturday morning. I am pretty excited about this. Currently, my AFRs are in the high 18-19+ range and that is encouraging even on pump/91. The off throttle bucking around town needs to be smoothed out as was as the idle which is currently set at 1,200 RPM.

OK. Fellahs, I went to Autozone to see what codes I am experiencing to go along with my tuning issues. Here they are as follows:

1. P0172: too rich in cylinders 1-4

The probable causes are:

- ignition system faulty

fuel system faulty; injectors or pressure

- vacuum leak

- engine mechanical condition

This is a pretty good site that I plan to follow by the letter in order to diagnose the issues.

2. P0234: turbocharger wastegate system malfunction

The probable causes are:

- turbocharger wastegate actuator failure

- charging pressure control system faulty

Here is the link describing the issue:

I have never seen this code before but then again, this is my first major EVO build. I hate to assume that this comes with the territory as I have to believe that those of you with larger stock frame turbos have overcome this code before.

3. P0455: EVAP system leak detected

The probable causes are:

- faulty fuel cap

- leaking vent or purge solenoil

- EVAP hose faulty

- leak on fuel tank

4. P0300: random cylinder misfire

The probable causes are:

- ignition system faulty

- fuel system faulty; injectors or pressure

vacuum leak

- engine mechanical condition

It seems like I have a lot of troubleshooting to do in the next few days. I am hoping to have things taken care of by the end of the week.
