I thought shifter gear light was the wire pointed by the thick white arrow. The wire connected to it is same color (black) and enters under the firewall toward the shifter gear box (with other wires that I assume are for back up lights).
Both these connectors originate from the same harness and are same size & shape, only the colors are different (black and white). Can you think of any optional "lighthning package" that would have had that kind of connector?

Well thank you so much guys:
1) I was able to connect into the brake distribution block... I never thought the pale green switch could fit into this connector. In fact it was tough to insert and I had to put good pressure to lock it in.
2) After revising my old brochure describing the options, I come to same conclusion as you Jeff, the white connector must be for the optional engine compartment light.

Now here is another question: I noticed the hose running from under the carb into the passenger valve cover can be removed freely from the valve cover in such way that there is a lot of oil that breaths out of the valve cover around the entry port. Is this normal?

Hey Gents.. I did'nt post for some time but does'nt mean I had abandonned! In fact I have been pretty active but there was so much grease oil and all kinds of sh...tt you would not beleive!
I removed almost everthing that is not mechanic and masked the reminder... then painted the visible part (from the top) of the engine and stacked a whole bunch of parts in the trunk. My wife has her doubts that this engine is going to fire again...

The underside will remain dirty till next winter... just too dirty to do all at once

I kept the original label even though it is dammaged... I like originals.

Trunk loaded with parts and parts and parts... new labels here, the old ones were burnt!

The garage permanently stinks rust, dust, paint and solvent... I hope warmer temperatures comes soon so I can get some fresh air in there.

I even did the back and I am satisfied with the result... the whole engine compartment should look young again!

And finally for tonight, new walking cat center caps replaced the former Plymouth/Dodge center caps that the PO had installed. However, in all honnesty I am not sure there is a net gain here in terms of appearane since the Plymouth/Dodge ones were pretty cool... But the walking cats belong to the cats familly so there they are to stay. I posted the Plymouth/Dodge ones for sale on a Canadian small adds web site at $150: they are not show quality but excellent for a driver.

Plymouth/Dodge center caps, their heavy thickness gives a nice 3D deaph profile to the wheel.

The walking cat center caps really make the Magnum wheels look alike, while better than, the original hubs + the blue makes a great match with the color of my car.
