Once cleaned then it was onto a little compounding, more cleaning and the a high speed polish. Once the machine work was complete the car was washed dried and waxed. Its hard to see in the pics but the cars finish turned out very nice. When the light hits it just right the car looks as if its made out of glass. Heres a few pics,

Thanks guys ....... Even though there is more I'd like to do to the car, the hard part is done And I will enjoy driving it while putting on the finishing touches. I will be briniging it to its first car show on Friday night  ( I will post some pics ) This thread is proof that a person without any restoration experience can turn his work into something nice. Im not saying it was easy, but when you get to this stage it was worth every minute of time invested. And yes I will show my car with much pride at its first car show, since every nut, bolt and wire from this car has gone through my hands more than once. I will be updating this thread as the work continues. Thanks agian too all of you who followed my Project. Heres a quick recap...

Its Been A Long Time Since an Update

Sorry its been so long since my last post, Sometimes life gets in the way. Not to bore you with details, but no job and a broken computer = no updates. Things have settled down and i'm back to work. The car has been good, driving it any chance i have. Had a few bugs to work out.. carb fine tuning, distributor gear roll pin snapped, Had to clearance header {hitting frame} Replaced fuel lines from pump to carb, Replaced pinion seal, And i'm on my second set of tires  . In the last few weeks ive been working on replacing the carpet and installing one of the new NPD dash pads. This is my old dash pad that was covered with a padded vinyl cover glued ontop of the original pad.

And here is the new NPD pad.

And a few pics of the install.

I'm happy with the dash pad except where the two screws over the cluster go up into the pad. With no inserts in the pad the screws will not pull it down enough where the pad meets the metal dash. Heres a Pic of that area.

Heres a few recent pics with the new tires, paint received a clay bar and wax and a new California car cover to keep it clean.

Great cars so cool back then. I believe about $3,600 at the time?
