well we decided around the 4th of july to get the truck together enough to drive it to the adirondack nationals car show which we have been going to for years also to give the truck a shake down and make sure we were happy with everything thus far... we decided to hinge the hood to the side using the piano hinge that we had and bent up a couple of support bars to go from the firewall to the radiator support also this is where the hinge connects we got our wheels and tires and rear disk brake kit and drive shaft all put in and rolled the truck outside

we also got the gauges and cluster off ebay and got them in and hooked up (using a wire harness from quick wire) ... we were a little disappointed in the height and tire once we got the truck outside to take a good look, so we sent the tire back and got 235 45 17s up front and 315 35 17s out back they now all match and are nitto nt05s also being as we were gonna take the truck back apart this winter i broke out the rattle cans and sprayed some primer ... we order the drop spindles from speedway for our m2 front end and we also had one hole (1") to drop the coilovers in the back

we then got the steering colum back in and hooked up the shifting linkage being the most frustrating... i suprised the old man the one day after work i cut up a stencil and sprayed some grey primer on the back of the truck .. he loved it,
we got the seat mounted the radiator in and plumbed along with the brake lines gas lines ect. and fired her up in late august and of course after a few heat cycles to break in the motor we drove around the neighborhood like *******s with no doors or fenders pissing off the neighbors with the cutouts open

we just through in a cheap fuel cell and plywood in the bed for this year to drive around we got the fenders and doors put back on tightied up some of the wiring and of course lettered the doors ... we drove it to lake george for the carshow and around town and up to our grandparents ( remember grandpa gave us the truck last thanksgiving) all together we probably put 500 miles on it

and now we have begun to take her back apart for the winter... slowly haha we are all pretty burnt out from throwing it together quickly but there is plenty of work to be done. a couple of things we have found that we need to change, the most obvious was the gear which we knew we where going to have to do anyway but with the 315s out back and softer compound of the tires the 2.73s had all they could do to barley spin the tires... while it was only turning 1400rpm at 70mph those gear are just no fun so we are either going with 3.33 or 3.55 and we'll just let her scream down the highway... and we deffinatlly need a sway bar up front as shes rolling pretty good without one, called welder series and they are sending their kit to use that you cut down to the size you need

and last but not least that is new on the list for this winter... after driving behind the truck we all agreed it looks funny going down the road from behind the cab it way to high in the air compared to the bed everything is out of proportion so .... 3.5" channel on the cab (also need to section the nose 3.5") and we are also going to chop the roof 3"... here is a quick rendering i did in photoshop on a 41 i found on google...(the color of our truck is still up in the air, but im really digging this green)
