There is no other way to get air from the turbo to the manifold. So I have routed it through the cockpit. Looks cool.

I have rebuilt the clutch master cylinder and now to see if it works :) Next job cut the front arches so the wheels don’t scrub (that’s the noise). Apart from that goes nicely.

I haven’t posted anything for a while, been busy at work. However I’ve taken a week off to try and get the body finished.

First I have (test) fitted some rear lights. I have used Alfa 156 lights and they wrap neatly around the rear quarter.
Today I made a front wing, replacing the last rusty panel on the car ? I made some front arches to try and match the rear. I must be watching to much Fantom Works as I’m getting obsessive about panel gaps! I have the bonnet and door gap just perfect now ? I also added a little winglet to strengthen the bonnet latch. Looks kind of cool.

The car drives nicely, the only rattle was the exhaust, that has now has rubber mounts so no more noise.

Next I have to finish the other front wheel arch, cut a hole in the bonnet (hood) for the air vent, make the engine firewall and try and fab some sort of trunk/boot engine cover.

Gone for a minimalistic look under my bonnet... waiting for some 10an braided hose to connect up the fuel cell.
Only things left for the front are a screen wash bottle, wire up radiator fan, wire up fuel level sender and brake master cylinder reservoir needs changing as the float is broken. This is an Audi master cylinder without the booster mounted to a custom bracket to make it look Triumph.

I have now fitted Audi TT bonnet hinges to the spitfire, and the bonnet lifts beautifully over the bumper. Was very fiddly to do, as I had to weld through the headlight holes to align it all up. Had to add a load of strengthening to the bonnet.
I have also mounted the bumper to a frame for a bit more rigidity. Looks nice.
Lastly I have made the plate that covers the engine (where the filler cap goes) secures with rivnuts so it can be easily removed.

It's good to see someone modifying a triumph - the time put into sorting the panel gaps has paid off!

What a transformation! If Triumph were making cars today I could see them building something like this.

You really are an artist with the welder. Looks like a modern version of a classic design. Well done!
