Well I have taken some trips down to the Carson Valley looking at land to build a shop for SME. Anyway I decided to head up the road from where I'm land shopping to visit an old favorite of mine.. Virginia City, NV so I snapped some pics.

Hard to see in the distance but that is an old silver mine that has been blocked off.

Virginia City's Comstock lode in the mid 1800's was one of the most impressive silver vein scores of all time. Many don't know but it had an influence on San Francisco's wealth (where most of it was shipped out to the rest of the world) and helped form the theatre/art culture the area still takes pride in today. The blue muck that was a nuisance in the 1850's for the local gold miners was about to be discoved in Grass Valley, CA to be worth more than $3000 of silver per ton making the hills of Washoe Valley some of the most coveted real estate in the world. At that point the barron slopes of the Washoe Mountains would be 25 of the Wild West's Wildest Years!

A few more older pics I took back in early 2010.

I love stories of the old west and Virginia City has a great one!

On another note.. I am now on the hunt for an AEV non highline Heat Reduction Hood, if anyone has a lead please let me know.
