I had a few extra hours today.
I painted all the steering linkages the same color of black, FLAT!
First I degreased everything.

Masked everything off.

...and painted everything.

Then, I laid everything out, pulled off the masking tape, and assembled everything. I wanted to get as close to the original width as possible, so the alignment will be in the ball park.

Next, I moved on to the bracket problem.

I took the bracket off and marked where the socket was interfering with the spindle. Then I ground down the interfering areas. Now, I have socket clearance!

Moving on to the wheel studs problem. I measured out where I should cut, and cut them off with a hacksaw. I was trying to keep the heat down. Prior to doing that, I put a die on, so I could chase the threads after the cut. Then, I used a file, and filed down the edges.

I did that X3, and installed the lug nuts.

Then, I discovered another issue! The caliper rubs on the wheel. Nothing a little bit of grinding wont fix!

But, that's a project for another day. I ran out of time.
Random pics of Cindy!

Also, I ordered these from ebay.

That should solve my valve stem issue.

Love the old camaros
